The UK and EU are making progress in talks on the union’s proposed Made in Europe rules, which risk disadvantaging British manufacturers, particularly in the automotive industry. This was stated by UK Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds, Reuters reports.
The rules are intended to favor European-made products in public procurement and support schemes.
According to earlier information from Reuters, France and Germany are discussing a compromise under which the UK could be granted trusted partner status if it aligns its tariffs on China with those of the EU.
The proposal must be approved by the EU member states and the European Parliament.
