Ubisoft proposes closing RedLynx – 122 jobs affected

French game developer Ubisoft is proposing to close the Finnish studio RedLynx, which could affect up to 52 positions. At the same time, 70 positions at the company’s studio in Singapore are affected, corresponding to around one-fifth of the workforce. This is reported by GamesIndustry.biz.

The cuts are part of Ubisoft’s extensive restructuring to reduce costs. RedLynx, which is behind the Trials game series, was acquired in 2011.

The studio in Singapore, which developed Skull and Bones, will continue operations.

Ubisoft has earlier this year closed several studios, including in Stockholm, and discontinued six game projects. The company is simultaneously organizing its operations into six new business units.
