U.S. durable goods orders were unexpectedly unchanged month-on-month in August.
On a monthly basis, orders were unchanged (+0,9 revised from +1,1), compared with the Bloomberg analyst consensus, which expected a decline of 0,3 percent.
The data are released by the U.S. Department of Commerce and indicate the number of new orders for goods expected to last for more than three years. Durable goods orders are considered important in the market because they are a good indicator of activity in the manufacturing industry.
