The United States continues to share intelligence with Ukraine. President Donald Trump said this on Tuesday, the New York Times reports.
The statement came after Ukraine reported for two nights in a row that it had received no warning from the West ahead of Russian missile attacks. This has raised concerns in Kyiv that the United States may have limited intelligence sharing, following previous threats to halt it if Ukraine continues to attack Russian oil refineries.
Trump said, however, that the United States continues to help Ukraine and share intelligence. Ukraine’s foreign minister also said that cooperation is continuing and said that one of the attacks went undetected because Russia used a special type of weapon.
Later on Tuesday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy again said that Ukraine had received no warning ahead of a new Russian missile attack on Kyiv, the newspaper writes.
Diesel prices have risen sharply as a result of attacks on refineries in Russia and the Middle East.
Trump is under pressure to bring down fuel prices ahead of the midterm elections in November and has also taken measures to facilitate the use of tax-exempt diesel in road transport.
