Danish Too Good To Go is expanding its digital marketplace from surplus food to five new categories: personal care, pet products, flowers and plants, dietary supplements and household products.
More than 8,500 stores already offer products in the new categories, of which around one-third have previously worked with the company on surplus food.
The expansion covers several European markets and partnerships with, among others, Interflora, Decathlon and OBI. The aim is to help retailers reduce waste, free up warehouse space and recover value from unsold goods.
Too Good To Go currently has 150 million registered users and 200,000 active partners. According to CEO Mette Lykke, the initiative is a response to growing demand from retailers for solutions for surplus goods outside the food sector.
