The total number of active oil and gas rigs in the US fell during the latest reporting week. This is shown by weekly figures from Houston-based oil services company Baker Hughes.
The total number of oil and gas rigs amounted to 598, compared with the previous week, when the number was 599.
There were 456 oil rigs, compared with 455 the previous week. The number of gas rigs amounted to 133 (135).
