Household consumption was unchanged during weeks 35-38 compared with weeks 31-34, according to Statistics Sweden. Compared with the immediately preceding four-week period, weeks 34-37, consumption decreased by 0.1 percent.
Developments varied across consumption areas. Of the eleven areas included in Statistics Sweden’s weekly indicator, consumption increased in five and decreased in five.
Transport recorded the largest increase, at 1.6 percent, followed by furniture, household equipment and routine maintenance of the home, at 1.5 percent. Restaurants and accommodation services recorded the largest decrease, at 2.9 percent.
All change figures are calculated at constant prices and are calendar-adjusted and seasonally adjusted.
