Speaker of Parliament Andreas Norlén will call the party leaders to a new round of talks on Wednesday. This emerged at a press conference on Monday afternoon.
Norlén was re-elected speaker earlier on Monday after defeating the Social Democrats’ candidate Johanna Haraldsson in the parliamentary vote.
Social Democratic Party leader Magdalena Andersson returned the mandate to explore the possibility of forming a new government on Monday morning.
The announcement came after the Left Party said on Sunday that it had backed the Tidö parties’ candidate Anderas Norlén (M) as speaker.
