Spacex Starship reached orbit around Earth for the first time on Monday, despite one of the spacecraft’s six Raptor engines ceasing to function after separation. The launch took place from southern Texas on Monday morning local time.
Spacex initially aborted the attempt but resumed it minutes later.
The Super Heavy rocket simultaneously completed the cleanest simulated splashdown to date for Starship V3.
It is unclear whether the plan to deploy 26 third-generation Starlink satellites will change.
