Sources: Germany selects Deutsche Bank as adviser for privatisation of SEFE – BN

The German government has selected Deutsche Bank as adviser for the privatisation of gas giant SEFE, formerly Gazprom Germania. The company could be valued at up to 8 billion euros. Bloomberg News reports, citing sources.

SEFE is simultaneously working with Lazard and Lambert Energy Advisory to find investors for a capital raising of 1.5-2 billion euros.

The company was nationalised in 2022 and is wholly owned by the German state, which under requirements from the European Commission must reduce its ownership to no more than 25 percent plus one share by 2028 at the latest.
