Electronics giant Sony will not participate in the CES technology trade show in Las Vegas in 2027, ending 60 years of attendance at the show, Nikkei Asia reports.
Sony, whose products were already displayed at the first CES show in 1967, says that neither the company nor its affiliated businesses plan to exhibit in January. The decision reflects a growing focus on entertainment, including gaming, music and film.
Sony did not have its own booth at CES 2026, but its joint venture with Honda showcased the Afeela electric car. The electric-car partnership has since been discontinued, and the companies have said that the future of the joint venture will be reconsidered.
