Software and cloud companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Figma and Workday are offering new discounts on AI products, according to The Information, to retain customers as competition from companies including Anthropic and OpenAI intensifies.
The discounts come after corporate customers became more selective in their AI investments. Customers have increased their budgets for products such as Anthropic’s Claude Code and OpenAI Codex while reducing other costs to finance the initiatives.
Companies have also reacted to some software providers switching to usage- or task-based pricing for AI, which can drive up costs.
