German company Siemens Mobility has received an order worth approximately 1.3 billion euros from Austria’s ÖBB-Infrastruktur to digitalize the country’s interlockings.
The order is part of a long-term framework agreement worth a total of 2.6 billion euros.
Siemens’ Signaling X platform will integrate, among other things, interlockings, the ETCS train control system and cybersecurity. Pilot operations are planned from the fourth quarter of 2030 ahead of a nationwide rollout.
