Several digital healthcare providers, including Doktor.se and Capio, have signed agreements for Freja eid’s electronic identification.
The background is a new law that enters into force on 1 December this year and requires public and publicly funded entities with e-services to support all electronic identification methods that meet the requirements of the law. The law covers healthcare, schools and social care, among other areas.
“For several years, we conducted intensive advocacy under the slogan ‘Everyone must be included’, so that decision-makers would realise how unreasonable it was to have digital exclusion based on which electronic identification a person was able to obtain. When the new law soon enters into force, we are instead entering a situation that can be described as ‘Everyone must be included’ and we can now clearly see that many entities are already preparing to be able to offer the freedom of choice that will be required in their e-services,” comments CEO Johan Henriksson.
