Swiss pharmaceutical giant Roche is discontinuing development of the obesity drug candidate emugrobart after clinical data indicated that the treatment would not meet the company’s internal targets. The company said this at an investor day on Monday.
The rights will be returned to Chugai Pharmaceutical, which originally discovered the drug and licensed it to Roche.
Roche has several other candidates for the treatment of overweight.
