Reports: Bruton may have sold its entire fleet – stock rises

Norwegian shipping company Bruton is reportedly said to have sold all four VLCC tankers for between USD 200 million and USD 230 million per vessel, according to rumors circulating in the market. Finansavisen reports this, citing ABG Sundal Collier.

The information is unconfirmed, and Bruton has only announced that a strategic review is underway. The stock has risen around 25 percent since the review was announced last week.

According to ABG Sundal Collier, a sale price of USD 220 million per vessel would correspond to a net asset value of NOK 70.30 per share, compared with Tuesday’s closing price of NOK 62.60. Bruton has one vessel in operation and three under construction.

The stock rose by as much as 5.4 percent on the Oslo Stock Exchange during early trading on Wednesday.
