The Swiss-Chinese agrochemical company Syngenta’s advisers are targeting a valuation of at least 66 billion dollars ahead of a planned IPO in Hong Kong early next year. Reuters reports this, citing two sources with knowledge of the matter.
UBS and China International Capital Corp are marketing the company at 15–20 times expected EBITDA for 2026, which according to the sources corresponds to a valuation of 66–88 billion dollars based on EBITDA of 4.4 billion dollars for 2025.
Syngenta, which is controlled by the state-owned Chinese company Sinochem, is seeking to position itself as a biotechnology company rather than a chemical manufacturer to justify the high valuation.
