Qatar is urging Iran to show goodwill, cease threats against neighboring countries and ensure that the Strait of Hormuz remains open. A spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said this at a press conference, according to Bloomberg.
The spokesperson also said that mediation efforts and the exchange of messages aimed at reaching an agreement between the United States and Iran are still ongoing.
Qatar meanwhile assesses that the region needs a new security arrangement to create greater stability and economic prosperity.
