Option Care surged by double digits after reports of bid worth more than 5 billion dollars – FT

Option Care Health rose 21 percent in after-hours trading following reports that Mckesson and private equity firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice are nearing an acquisition of the company. The deal would value Option Care at more than 5 billion dollars including debt, the Financial Times reports, citing sources.

Option Care, which provides medical infusion services, is said to be in advanced talks following a joint bid from Mckesson and Clayton Dubilier & Rice. An agreement could be reached as early as Tuesday, but no final agreement has yet been concluded.

Under the proposed arrangement, Clayton Dubilier & Rice would own 51 percent and Mckesson 49 percent of Option Care. Mckesson would also have the right to buy the private equity firm’s stake at a later date.
