AI firm OpenAI’s head of infrastructure, Sachin Katti, is leaving his operational role on November 15 after around a year in the position. He will continue as an adviser and will be replaced by Uday Ruddarraju, who is currently the company’s chief technology officer for computing infrastructure. CNBC reports.
Katti says he wants to build something new. His departure is the latest in a series of executive changes at OpenAI this year, with Fidji Simo and Brad Lightcap among those who have left their roles.
OpenAI is also planning investments of around 600 billion dollars in computing capacity through 2030, with extensive data center projects in several U.S. states.
