The total number of active oil and gas rigs in Canada rose during the latest reporting week. This is shown by weekly figures from Houston-based oilfield services company Baker Hughes.
The total number of oil and gas rigs amounted to 216, compared with the previous week when the number was 208.
There were 149 oil rigs, compared with 145 the previous week. The number of gas rigs amounted to 66 (62).
