Norway cuts Northeast Arctic saithe quota by 22 percent

Norway’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries has set the fishing quota for Northeast Arctic saithe at 127,807 tonnes for 2027, a decrease of 22 percent compared with 2026.

The decision follows the recommendation of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea and aims to strengthen the spawning stock.

As previous quotas have not been fully utilised, the actual decline in catches is expected to be smaller.
