Speaker of the Riksdag Andreas Norlén is extending Moderate Party leader Ulf Kristersson’s mandate to explore the possibilities of forming a government by a few more days.
The decision is motivated by new circumstances that emerged on Friday, with new announcements in the government formation process from the Sweden Democrats and the Centre Party. Kristersson was given the mandate on 3 November and was originally due to report back by 10 November at the latest.
A new date for the report back will be announced later.
