Munich Re raises earnings forecast after strong third quarter – preliminary figures

German reinsurer Munich Re raises its full-year outlook after reporting preliminary figures for the third quarter.

Net profit for the period was approximately 1.7 billion euros in the third quarter of 2026, exceeding analyst consensus of 1.48 billion euros.

The result was driven by strong performance across all business areas, lower-than-expected large-loss costs and strong investment performance in reinsurance.

After net profit of 5.7 billion euros in the first nine months of the year, the company raises its full-year forecast to 6.6 billion euros, from 6.3 billion euros previously.

The final quarterly report will be published on November 12.
