The major European stock exchanges are trading mostly higher on Friday afternoon.
The broad European Stoxx 600 index was up 0,24 percent at 637,94 at 16.28. During the day, the index has traded within a range of 0,17 percent at its lowest and 0,93 percent at its highest.
By sector, financial services has performed best, up 1,20 percent, while banks are posting the second-best performance, up 1,10 percent.
Energy has performed worst, down 1,38 percent, while food is posting the second-weakest performance, down 0,47 percent.
French automaker Renault will invest 600 million euros through 2030 in the factories in Valladolid and Palencia to produce five new car models, including two electric cars, as well as a new battery assembly line. Several media outlets report this. Renault is rising 0,5 percent.
Finnish engineering company Konecranes is raising its financial targets as part of a strategy for accelerated growth. The company is now targeting annual sales growth of 7 percent. Previously, the target was to grow faster than the market. The target for the comparable EBITA margin is being raised to 15-17 percent, from 13-16 percent previously, and is to be reached no later than 2030. The company is also launching a share buyback programme of 100 million euros. Konecranes is surging 7,8 percent.
German meal delivery company Hellofresh is lowering its outlook for 2026 after customer acquisition during the important back-to-school period was weaker than expected. The company now expects third-quarter revenue to decline 11–12 percent in constant currency, compared with the market’s expected decline of 6,8 percent. The share is plunging 10,5 percent.
French major bank Credit Agricole and Italian major bank Unicredit have discussed a possible joint arrangement concerning Banco BPM that would involve splitting up the bank. Reuters reports this, citing two sources with knowledge of the matter. Under one scenario, Unicredit would give Credit Agricole approximately one-third of Banco BPM. Credit Agricole is rising 1,2 percent, Unicredit is rising 1,7 percent and Banco BPM is gaining 1,2 percent.
Research company Nanexa has entered into a global exclusive licensing and collaboration agreement with Novo Nordisk concerning the PharmaShell drug platform. The agreement covers up to five development programmes for long-acting injectable peptide drugs in areas including obesity, type 2 diabetes and other cardiometabolic diseases. Novo Nordisk is responsible for global development and commercialisation. Nanexa may receive a total of up to 1 165 million euros, of which 615 million euros relates to the upfront payment as well as development and regulatory milestones. Novo Nordisk is trading unevenly during the afternoon.
