UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband wants to see a deeper and stronger relationship with the EU. He said this in connection with the IMF’s annual meeting in Bangkok, Bloomberg News reports.
The statement comes after Prime Minister Andy Burnham opened the door to a new agreement with Brussels and also possible re-entry into the EU. According to Bloomberg Economics, Brexit has cost the UK 2.5 percent in lost GDP and around 30 billion pounds, equivalent to 39.7 billion dollars, in forgone tax revenues annually.
At the same time, opinion polls show that a majority would vote for EU membership if the referendum were held again.
