Hungary’s central bank MNB lowers its medium-term inflation target to 2.5 from 3 percent from January 1, 2028.
The tolerance band of plus/minus 1 percentage point is maintained.
The bank refers, among other things, to economic convergence with the euro area and lower inflation expectations.
From 2027, the number of monetary policy meetings will be reduced to eight per year.
