Goldman Sachs Chairman and CEO David Solomon has been appointed the new chair of the US business organization The Business Council. He succeeds Brian Cornell, chairman of Target, who has held the position since 2024.
The Business Council brings together leading business executives to discuss global economic challenges, technological development and strategic issues for the future.
Solomon takes office at a time when artificial intelligence, geopolitical uncertainty and changing labor market conditions are high on the organization’s agenda.
The organization’s executive committee for 2026–2027 consists of 22 CEOs from some of the world’s largest companies.
