The US’s largest AI hyperscalers, major providers of cloud and AI infrastructure, need to generate around USD 300 billion in annual AI revenue to achieve profitability on their major investments, Goldman Sachs estimates.
Investments are expected to total USD 800 billion this year, and consensus points to USD 1,100 billion in 2027. Goldman estimates that next year’s investments will be higher than consensus.
Goldman estimates at the same time that AI users need to spend approximately USD 1,000 billion annually on AI applications for hyperscalers to achieve attractive returns.
