Germany’s parliament approved on Friday the year’s second temporary cut in the tax on petrol and diesel, a measure worth the equivalent of 2.5 billion euros. Reuters reports.
Following the Bundestag’s approval, the Bundesrat, where the federal states are represented, is also expected to approve the fuel price reduction later on Friday.
The tax on petrol and diesel will be cut by 0.17 euros per litre from the beginning of October until the end of December to help citizens cope with fuel prices that have soared as a result of the war in Iran.
