France is pushing for the UK to be excluded from the EU’s planned “Made in Europe” rules, which are intended to favor European products in public subsidies and procurement, including in renewable technology and electric vehicles. The Guardian reports.
France primarily wants to limit the rules to the EU’s 27 member states, while Germany and several Nordic countries advocate including the UK and other partner countries.
EU countries hope to reach an agreement on the Industrial Accelerator Act and the ”Made in Europe” rules in December.
The UK is meanwhile continuing to try to secure access to the system.
