European Commission approves Henkel’s acquisition of Stahl

The European Commission has approved German company Henkel’s acquisition of Dutch company Stahl.

The Commission considers that the deal does not raise any competition concerns because its impact on competition in the markets where the companies operate is limited. The deal primarily concerns industrial coatings and adhesives.

Henkel announced in February that Stahl would be acquired for 2.1 billion euros from Stahl Group, which is controlled by private equity firm Wendel. Stahl had sales of around 725 million euros in 2025 and approximately 1,700 employees.
