Norwegian real estate brokerage company EiendomsMegler 1 Midt-Norge has appointed 50-year-old Thomas Melum as its new CEO, effective January 1, 2027. He will also join the group executive management of SpareBank 1 SMN.
Melum succeeds Kjetil Reinsberg, who will remain CEO until the handover. The change in leadership is part of a planned generational transition.
Melum has worked at the company since 2002, when he started as a real estate agent. Since 2021, he has been head of sales.
Chairman Jan-Frode Janson emphasizes that recruiting an internal candidate ensures continuity and demonstrates the group’s opportunities for internal career development.
Melum says he wants to build on the company’s existing operations and strengthen its market-leading position.
