Drug development company Egetis Therapeutics announces that the largest retrospective study to date of tiratricol in thyroid hormone resistance, RTH-beta, has been published, according to a press release.
The study included 28 patients in four countries with a median treatment duration of 50 months. The treatment reduced FT4 levels by 37 percent and TSH by 43 percent, while heart rate fell by an average of ten beats per minute.
The results provide further support for existing treatment guidelines. Egetis is working on a development plan for the indication, for which tiratricol has not yet been approved.
