Diamyd Medical: Retogatein delayed insulin-dependent diabetes by more than five years

Diabetes research company Diamyd Medical reports that long-term data from DiAPREV-IT show that two injections of retogatein significantly delayed progression to insulin-dependent type 1 diabetes in children with the HLA DR3-DQ2 genetic profile.

The median time to stage 3 was 9.0 years versus 3.4 years with placebo. The median follow-up period was 12.9 years, and the results are to be published in Diabetologia.
