Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk’s total prescription volumes for the obesity drug Wegovy in the US declined by 1 percent during the week ended October 30. The four-week moving average was unchanged for the second consecutive week, according to an analysis from Citi.
Prescription volume for Wegovy in tablet form was unchanged week over week and amounted to approximately 184,000 prescriptions. The tablet now accounts for 36 percent of Wegovy’s total prescription volume. Competitor Eli Lilly’s tablet Foundayo meanwhile recorded an increase of 3 percent to approximately 65,000 prescriptions.
Citi repeats its Neutral rating with a price target of 298 Danish kroner. The bank expects sales of the Wegovy tablet to reach 2.7 billion dollars in 2026, but continues to see significant long-term uncertainty surrounding pricing and competition in the obesity market.
