China’s export restrictions do not affect the Philippines’ oil supplies

China’s restrictions on fuel exports do not affect Philippine oil companies’ existing supply contracts, Energy Minister Sharon Garin said, according to Reuters. China has assured that long-term contracts will be honored.

The Philippines buys a quarter of its diesel from China and has stocks of more than 1 million barrels.

The government is also examining long-term supplies from other countries.
