Construction group Byggpartner Gruppen’s subsidiary Åhlin & Ekeroth Byggnad has been entrusted by Lejonfastigheter, as the design-and-build contractor in a collaborative arrangement, to proceed to phase 2 of the construction of Linköping’s new multi-purpose arena at Stångebrofältet. The remaining order value is SEK 470 million, according to a press release.
The facility will be a new sports and events arena with three full-size sports halls, with the possibility of expanding to five if needed in the future. The largest hall will have a spectator capacity of up to 2,000, while the two smaller halls will each accommodate 300 spectators. The total building area amounts to 14,000 square metres.
Construction starts immediately, and some preparatory ground and construction work has already begun. Construction is now being intensified, with the aim of having the arena ready for end users and occupancy in 2028.
