Aircraft manufacturer Boeing’s shares are falling sharply on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday after the company released its third-quarter results. The results showed a larger-than-expected loss, while revenue was in line with consensus.
Boeing said at the earnings presentation that more time is needed to achieve a higher and sustainable production rate. The announcement sent the shares tumbling, Bloomberg News reports.
The company will not meet its target of delivering 500 aircraft from the 737 model during the year, while deliveries of the 787 Dreamliner are expected to come in closer to 90 aircraft, which is at the lower end of the company’s forecast. This emerged during a call with analysts on Tuesday.
At the time of writing, Boeing’s shares are down 9.7 percent, recording their largest decline since April 2025.
