Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey says that persistently high energy prices are making it increasingly difficult for the central bank to keep its policy rate unchanged. Reuters reports.
Bailey also said that the bank cannot wait for conclusive evidence of how energy prices are affecting inflation expectations, even though the pass-through has so far been “fairly muted”.
