Aerospace giant Airbus has received an order for eight A350F freighter aircraft from US-based Kalitta Air, according to information provided to Reuters by three people familiar with the matter.
The deal would mean that Kalitta Air, which is also a supplier to the US military, is choosing Airbus for the first time as an alternative to its traditional supplier Boeing.
According to the sources, Airbus has registered the order as a firm order without naming the customer. Airbus declines to comment on the information. Kalitta Air says that the company is evaluating the aircraft but has not yet made any decision.
