Smart-home company Plejd’s former major shareholder Schneider Electric is making a bid for rival Shelly Group following this summer’s bid rumors. The deal supports valuations in the sector, but could also mean tougher competition for Plejd, Affärsvärlden assesses in a comment on Thursday.
The newspaper assesses that the deal is double-edged for Plejd. The bid shows that strategic buyers see significant value in fast-growing smart-home companies. At the same time, competition could become tougher in the long term.
“We remain positive on Plejd and have previously had a buy recommendation on the stock,” Affärsvärlden writes.
