Finland’s state-owned investment company Solidium has launched a sale of 70 million A shares in insurance group Sampo through an accelerated bookbuilding process directed at Finnish and international institutional investors.
The shares correspond to approximately 2.6 percent of the outstanding shares in Sampo. Before the sale, Solidium owns approximately 164 million A shares, corresponding to approximately 6.2 percent.
The proceeds will primarily be used for a return of capital to the Finnish state, financing the latest additional investment in ICEYE and general corporate purposes.
The result is expected to be announced around 23 September. Solidium has undertaken, subject to customary exceptions, not to sell any additional Sampo shares for 90 days.
