RAC is putting plans for a London listing worth around £5 billion on hold.
Instead, owners GIC and Silver Lake are negotiating to sell their holdings to co-owner CVC Capital and other investors through a so-called continuation vehicle. Sky News reports this, citing sources.
A deal would push an IPO back by at least 18 months.
RAC increased its number of members to 15.9 million in the first half, from 15 million a year earlier.
Revenue rose 6 percent to £436 million and EBITDA increased 12 percent to £170 million.
