Zealand Pharma has initiated the global pivotal phase 3 ZUPREME program for the weight-loss drug petrelintide in people with overweight or obesity.
The program is being conducted together with Roche and comprises three studies with a total of approximately 7,000 participants.
Petrelintide is administered once a week and compared with placebo in patients with and without type 2 diabetes, respectively, as well as in patients with established cardiovascular disease.
The studies will form the basis for future marketing applications.
