The dry bulk index Baltic Dry Index rose 0.97 percent to 3,432 on Tuesday.
The index is considered by many to be a good economic indicator as it measures the cost of shipping raw materials.
The index’s record of 11,793 points was set in May 2008. The lowest level was recorded in February 2016 at 290 points.
