Danish medical device company Ambu is launching a new flexible access sheath with suction functionality for the treatment of kidney stones. The product, FANS, is developed for use together with the company’s aScope 5 Uretero ureteroscope, according to a press release.
The solution combines flexible navigation with continuous suction to remove fluids, stone fragments and particles during the procedure. The product broadens the company’s offering in urology and may increase value per treatment.
FANS will go on sale in the US and Europe from November. The US version has received FDA clearance and the European version is CE marked.
