Consumer goods giant Unilever expects to raise prices at a faster pace during the fourth quarter and next year to offset higher costs resulting from the war with Iran. Reuters reports this.
”We definitely expect price levels in 2027 to be higher than the average for 2026,” said CEO Fernando Fernandez.
Underlying sales increased by 5.2 percent in the third quarter, versus an expected 4.8 percent.
Volumes increased by 2.9 percent and prices by 2.3 percent.
Unilever raises its forecast for this year’s volume growth to at least 3 percent, from previously around 3 percent, but maintains its forecasts for sales and operating margin.
The share price fell by just over 3 percent after the report, partly due to weaker volume growth in the food business.
