Cabin crew union at SAS Link in Norway to go on strike Wednesday

Fellesforbundet’s cabin crew employees at SAS Link will go on strike from Wednesday morning after members unanimously voted against the National Mediator’s proposal. This is stated in a press release.

Voter turnout exceeded 80 percent, and all those who voted said no. A key issue in the dispute concerns the pay model. The union wants pay increases to consist to a greater extent of fixed pay and the variable pay system to be abolished. The mediation proposal, however, retains a model in which a larger share of income is linked to variable allowances.

The union also objects to the agreement no longer guaranteeing two weekends off per month.

– People must be able to know what they will be paid when the month is over, and they must be able to plan their leisure time and family life, says chief negotiator Dag-Einar Sivertsen.
