The US military has drawn up plans for new attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure and nuclear facilities, in which the so-called MOAB bomb could be used, CNN reports, citing several US officials.
The plans could be carried out before or after the midterm elections if President Donald Trump gives the go-ahead.
MOAB is the US’s most powerful non-nuclear bomb, but there are doubts about its ability to destroy deeply buried nuclear facilities.
The White House says Trump is keeping all options open.
